The game Shohoku vs Jousei in Slam Dunk is a practice game in preparation for the National Tournament. The Shohoku team travelled to Shizuoka for a joint training camp with Jousei where they would play three games in total (one victory, draw and defeat each). However, Hanamichi Sakuragi did not travel and stayed in Kanagawa practiciong his jump shot with coach Anzai.
