Minori Kishimoto, one of Toyotama High School’s standout players in Slam Dunk, is a power forward whose speed, athleticism, and scoring instincts make him a key part of the team’s explosive offense. Playing under fiery Coach Kanehira, Kishimoto embodies Toyotama’s Kansai-style basketball — fast, flashy, and fearless. His ability to score from multiple positions and his energetic style of play perfectly complement the team’s high-tempo strategy built around quick transitions and aggressive attacks.

Unlike his more temperamental teammate Tsuyoshi Minami, Kishimoto often plays with a steadier mindset, serving as both a scoring threat and a stabilizing presence when Toyotama’s intensity risks boiling over. He is extremely arrogant, brash, violent and short-tempered and is fully aware that he is a good player. For instance, he thinks that Akira Sendoh is just an overrated player after reading an article about him. During his confrontation against Hanamichi Sakuragi he gets pushed hard and while trying to intimidate him.

During Slam Dunk’s National Tournament match against Shohoku, Kishimoto steps up after Minami’s emotional outburst and injury. His resilience and composure help Toyotama remain competitive even as momentum shifts. Though Toyotama ultimately falls short, Kishimoto’s performance earns respect from both teammates and rivals, highlighting his discipline and commitment to the game.
